Digital ballast are more efficient and give out a higher output than magnetic ballasts while giving off less heat and being less bulky and lighter. They also have much more safety features including soft start & ignition delay and are typically higher quality built. Another advantage is digital ballasts are dimmable and growers can control the power output.
